Free trial to quit smoking
Owning a laser is like having more than one free trial to quit smoking.

Home lasers are becoming more and more popular. Everyone can buy a laser over the Internet. They are now surprisingly cheap.
The first therapeutic laser I bought back in 1988 cost me over $5000. It still works fine and has only 6mW of power. The beam is red with 632 nm wavelength. It is produced by a HeNe (helium-neon) tube.
For around $10, you can now buy a red beam, battery operated laser pointer. With around the same power and wavelength as my first laser. This of course is not a therapeutic laser. Nothing stops you from using it on yourself.
My personal experience has shown me that I can get similar results with a low cost laser than with a professional model.
At this low power there is no danger for the skin. The only safety concern is for the eyes. Never direct a laser toward the eyes. Always wear protective laser goggles when using a laser. Make sure the goggles you are using are rated for your laser’s wavelength. Simple sunglasses are not enough. Sometimes safety goggles are more expensive than the cost of a low power laser. Don’t be skimpy and risk eye damage, buy your laser safety goggles before using a laser.
What king of laser should I buy?
You have two choices of laser equipment for laser therapy. If you are a therapist or a person wanting the best, buy an approved device. If you are a budget minded person, you can buy a simple low power visible red or infra red laser.
To stimulate areas on the surface of the body, it is best to use a visible red laser. For joint problems an infra red laser is best, because the beam penetrates deeper. To quit smoking, a visible red laser is a good choice and they are usually cheaper.
What are the acupoints to beam?
If you are not a therapist, you can only use the laser on yourself. Don’t give treatments to others. Most probably, the law in your area doesn’t allow you to do so. If you want others to take the free trial to quit smoking, show them how to do it and then let them do it for themselves.
If you are pregnant, do not use laser therapy. Safety during pregnancy has not yet been totally established.
Do not use laser therapy over cancer.
